Jane Pettigrew is a renowned British author who has written a number of books on tea.Tea & Infusions has a great section on herbal and fruit infusions.

A glossary of therapeutic herbs and fruits is provided, together with the benefits of each, and how to brew herbal teas.

Stressed? Try Jasmine Flowers Herbal Tea. “It imparts a soothing aroma and flavor that help calm the nerves.” I learned that “Dandelion can lower blood pressure, help digestion and is a diuretic, so can be helpful as part of a slimming diet.” There is also a complete section on tea and health.

You’ll find tips for brewing tea, tea drinks and recipes. The author also offers suggestions for you to try. One idea that sounds interesting is using tea when steaming, baking or grilling fish.

It very briefly mentions Fair Trade practices, protecting the rights of tea workers in developing countries. It also touches on tea history with photos and art prints from China to Early Britain.

I was fascinated by the use of tea marinades for meat and fish.

Tea & Infusions is great for the tea lover, who wants information as well as recipes. With its full color photos, this book invites you to sit down with a cuppa to browse its pages.
