- Ask the florist to cut the foam to fit, or do it yourself with a sharp kitchen knife.
- Fit the foam into your container and moisten it
- There is no right or wrong way with flower arrangements. Experimenting is part of the fun.
- Keep it low. Use shorter stems (a good use for flowers with broken stems)
- Experiment with different textures, shapes and colour combinations
- Have the taller flowers and greenery in the centre, with lower flowers to the outside
- Lean the outside flowers out, so they cover the edge of your container
- Use bark chips or crumpled cellophane to cover any foam still visible

- If it’s a hot day, spray the flowers every so often with a demister
