How the Stars Were Made - A Fairy Tea Party Story
From Tea Party Diva - www.teapartydiva.com
Once upon a time, the Fairy Queen of all the cloud fairies, came to Earth to visit. She went to a Fairy Tea Party and drank Fairy tea. All the elves, sprites and fairies from the forest were there. They sat on toadstool chairs, and ate fairy butterfly cakes.
The fairy feast was amazing. The fairies had baked and baked. They ate little fairy toadstools which were really made of eggs and tomato, but looked like just like small toadstools.
The Fairy Queen wore a gossamer gown and a silver crown. She laughed as the crickets and grasshoppers chased each other in and out of the trees. She noticed the flower fairies dressed in their beautiful flower dresses playing and laughing. Some shy flower fairies hid behind the blossoms, and peeked out at their special guest.
“Those elves are full of mischief.” she smiled, and she even joined in some of their tea party games.
When night fell the fireflies danced and glimmered in the moonlight. The glow worms also lit the way for fairies going home from the tea party. “Thank you for inviting me to your Fairy Tea Party.” she said. “I always have so much fun. I’ll see you next time, and you must come and visit me and the Cloud Fairies up above the sky.”
The cloud fairies knew that the Fairy Queen would be home soon. They were looking down from the sky, to wait for her. They had so much to tell her about what they had done while she was away. They also wanted to hear all her stories about the Fairy Tea Party on Earth.
One of the youngest cloud fairies, Whisper Fairy, was as light as a whisper and as soft as a cloud. “I can’t see anything.” she whispered. She very gently poked her finger into the sky floor and made a teeny tiny hole the size of a pinprick. She lay down to see if she could see the Fairy Queen returning. “That’s a good idea.” said Sparkle Fairy and Twinkle Fairy, and they did the same. Soon all the cloud fairies had poked teeny tiny little holes in the floor of the sky.
The bright lights of Cloud Fairyland shone through the little holes. When the Fairy Queen was on her way home, she noticed the lights twinkling through the sky floor.
“Could you see us?” the cloud fairies asked as they welcomed her back home. No, but I could see the little starbrights you made. They lit the way home for me and they look so beautiful. Let’s leave them there for next time, and for boys and girls who look up at the night sky.
And that is how the stars were made. The fairies know that they are really the lights of Cloud Fairyland shining through.
