Asian Honey Soy Chicken Wings - Recipe
Do some Asian cooking with this delicious Asian Honey Soy Chicken Wings Recipe. It uses Asian ingredients and an optional tea marinade. These tender honey soy chicken wings are a firm family favourite.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 2 tabspns oil
- 1/3 cup dark soy sauce
- 6 tabspns honey
- 1/4 tspn crushed garlic
- 1/4 tspn crushed ginger
- 2 tabspns dry sherry (optional)
- 1/4 cup warm - not hot - tea (optional)
Method
Cut each chicken wing in half, pat dry and place in a shallow bowl. Heat oil in the wok, and brown chicken wings a few at a time. Pat dry with paper towels. Combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, sherry and tea. Pour over the chicken wings, turning chicken wings to fully coat them. Marinade for at least 1 hour.
Place all in an Asian wok. Cover and simmer on a very very low heat for about 30 mins. Cover the wok. Stir occasionally, especially towards the end. This is to ensure that the sweet glaze on the Asian Honey Soy Chicken Wings does not burn. Sprinkle with shallots for color. Serve with rice, a vegetable and Asian prawn crackers, or as an entree.
These Asian Honey Soy Chicken Wings are so tender, the meat just about falls off the bones. They’re very tasty too.
